Abstract Submission Guidelines

The following guidelines are provided to assist you in submitting your abstract. Please follow these instructions when completing the abstract form. Abstracts can only be submitted online.

Papers and posters submitted for presentation at the ASLP conference should not have been previously published as a complete paper in an international journal. New reports in the field of speech and language therapy are welcome for presentation, but reports previously published as an abstract or as a full paper in a national journal or presented previously at a national meeting are also permissible. Abstracts or papers and posters that report on scientific work, new clinical and practical developments and perspectives, but also case reports that demonstrate important insights for clinicians are eligible for acceptance. Contributions addressing the conference theme “The role and contribution of the SLP in society” are particularly welcome.

The abstract should be structured as follows:

  • Background
  • Aim / Objectives
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions / take-home message
  • Keywords

Abstracts must be a maximum of 300 words (not including presenter names and titles).

There is a limit of two presentations (oral, poster or workshop) for a single presenter. This however does not exclude the opportunity to be a co-author for an unlimited number of abstracts.

Review Process

All abstracts will be reviewed in a blinded fashion for their quality and relevance by the Scientific Committee. If an abstract is not accepted for oral presentation, it is possible that the authors may instead be invited to present their work as a poster. The closing date is 31 October 2022.
